The Renowned Musician Calls On Public Help to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The effort seeks to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to support Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“It has a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down in the wake of a major charity concert held in late summer. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the piece was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of artists featured on Lullaby encompasses a range of well-known figures from the music world. All took part in the benefit event, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was crafted by a group of producers and composers. The single blends a fusion of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The group managing the project have emphasized that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These donations will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a fixed goal,” a spokesperson explained. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The reality in the area was characterized as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of buildings said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The song is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the solidarity show will be made accessible to view on a digital service from mid-December.
