Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the international hiatus, however will the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.
For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
Murs' new record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
West Ham's sole on the road win this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.
So, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.
My son told me to select Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
They have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.
But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
