Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by telling students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his viewpoint on the UK education system, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They promote this harmful mindset.”

In response to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his public life on dog-whistle politics and now, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, his comments suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, Farage also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He said organizations like it were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I am serious. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
