Lando Norris Wins Maiden Formula One World Championship in Abu Dhabi In Spite Of Max Verstappen's Race Triumph.

With a performance full of gutsy driving, the McLaren driver has won his debut Formula One world championship by taking third place at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Third place was enough for the British driver, despite the fact that Red Bull's Max Verstappen won the race and his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri finished in second.

The incident was looked at by the stewards, with several impossibly tense laps elapsing before a penalty for his rival and no further action for Norris was decided. This bold move unimpeded was vital to his championship bid.

While Norris was crowned the first Briton to win the title since Lewis Hamilton in 2020, the contrast in form between the two was stark. As the young guns battled over the title, Hamilton, the grand champion, could manage only eighth place in Abu Dhabi, a dismal conclusion to a dismal season with Ferrari.

Making his debut with the Italian team had been greeted with excitement but produced what was easily his most challenging year ever, finishing sixth in the championship without a podium. He has looked jaded in the final rounds and will aim to reset over the winter.
