Iran Reports Assault on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is uncertain and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas associated with the the regime, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
