Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors outline the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
