Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a message.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted on social media.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
